Open Farm Days collaboration….

Welcome back to our blog. We are excited to announce that we were chosen as one of four Open Farm Days Incubator projects this winter to produce a new product for Open Farm Days 2021! We are beyond grateful for the hard work of the Open Farm Days team, Alberta Food Tourism, and Chef Andrea Harling for knocking this product development out of the park for us.

Introducing our NEW Original Sweet & Spicy Mushroom Jerky! A Sweet & Spicy snack that we hope you will love just as much as we do! Our plant-based mushroom jerky is small batch crafted with no artificial ingredients. We believe in safe food.

Gracing the Original Jerky Sweet & Spicy is mascot Red Fox Fun-girl Piper. We created Piper to help highlight the importance of seeing the women in agriculture. Female farmers have been around since the dawn of time, and females choosing farming as their career are on the rise globally. We believe we need to see more of them. We are proud that Red Fox Fungi is fifty percent female owned and directed. Women have always been valuable members of the family farm, however their stories and faces have been missing from what we view as a “farmer”. We hope that Piper creates as much conversation as the delicious Mushroom Jerky she dons the cover of.
